The batteries are characterized by the particular and specific structure of their positive plates
and by the special composition of the negative plates. Their positive plates are made of 19 small vertical tubes,
increased diameter 9.3 mm giving the surplus volume required by the active material. The negative plates are
designed and built in order to support a greater quantity of active negative material.
The composition, together with the highly microprobes envelop separators and the full warp-around envelope
protections on the positive plates, prevents detachment and fall of active materials and formation of lateral
short circuits. It also ensures long cell working lives and maintenance of high performance characteristics over time.
The life of batteries, indicated, by convention, in the number of charge and discharge cycles at a 5 hour discharge rate,
is 1500 cycles when correct operating and maintenance standards are complied with.
Actual working life can be greater or lesser than this depending in the use the battery
is put to and in compliance with maintenance standards.
